How to Activate Your MC Number After Receiving Your DOT Number: A Step-by-Step Guide

Once your trucking company has received its DOT number, you’re not far from launching your operations. Here’s a quick guide to help you activate your MC (Motor Carrier) number:

Step 1: Apply for MC Number
Start by submitting your application through the FMCSA’s Unified Registration System (URS). You’ll also need to pay the $300 non-refundable fee for the MC number.

Step 2: Wait for the 21-Day Public Review Period
